Songwriting is the basis for hit songs and is an individual expression of a specific and unique type. Songwriting is a craft that encompasses many different genres and forms. Thus, it requires a working knowledge of how songs are arranged lyrically , musically, and harmonically. Great songwriting is something that comes from the heart, but requires an understanding of what to provide a performer so the song can convey the emotion that the songwriting intended.
As a professional songwriter in his own right, having written, performed and recorded his own music, Chip has done arrangements for ensembles in professional settings. and helped young songwriters develop their own style and “voice”.
Chip Dee provides private music instruction to students of all ages and at all levels of ability across a variety of areas and instruments: vocal, instrumental, composition and arranging, and sound production, engineering and recording.
