The Chip Dee Academy of Music has at the core the idea that music is a language. Chip teaches first and foremost how to communicate with the language of music. Students learn the building blocks of musical theory to be able to “converse” with other musicians.
Of equal importance in the teaching at the academy is that of professionalism. It is one thing to be able to play a hit song on a guitar, and quite the other to be able to sight read a chart for a TV commercial.
In order to learn what it is to be a professional musician it takes someone who is s professional to teach what that is about, and to provide instruction as to the various situations that a professional working musician will encounter.
Chip’s students love him because he is patient, and dedicated to music. They respect music as an art but even more so they respect it as a discipline – and always practice their lessons.
