A professional string player who performs baroque, early music and orchestral and ensemble work including opera with the LA Opera , Julliard School of Music, and has performed at the Metropolitan Opera House, was asked how he felt about kids playing the video game “Guitar Hero” rather than a real guitar. His answer was that ” if it gets kids interested and playing music – it is great.”
When you think about it with just a slight amount of added effort and attention, a child can progress from the 5 buttons on the Guitar Hero guitar controller, to 4 strings on a bass or the 6 strings on a REAL guitar.
In fact, the notation on Guitar Hero is a type of notation already used for guitar called “tablature “.
Make the jump to playing a real instrument, that produces music and enjoyment for a lifetime for you and your friends. It one of the world’s most popular instruments that can provide a lifetime of challenge and joy for people of all ages. It is a musical instrument that is affordable to own, portable, durable and opens the door to many possibilities.
